The book

This kit contains two booklets:

  • A general booklet explains the origin of wine aromas and how the sense of smell works, and offers guidance on how to improve your tasting skills and refine your olfactory memory: What are the primary, secondary and tertiary aromas in a wine? What’s the difference between an aroma and a smell? How can Le Nez du Vin be used to train the sense of smell?
  • A specific booklet on red wines, revealing the 12 key aromas and where they occur by grape variety and by vineyard in France and around the world: What are the characteristic aromas of Pinot Noir? Of Saint-Émilion reds? In which appellations in the New and Old Worlds can the aroma of violets often be identified?
